How it started…

I have clear memories of sitting in my grandma's living room looking through old photo albums. I loved the pictures of my dad growing up with my uncles and aunt, of my sisters and me as babies, and the landscape of my grandparents’ farm as the seasons changed. But, my favorite picture was framed and sitting on top of their old upright piano. It was of my grandparents on their wedding day. I believe this was the only one portrait of them from that day, which made it all the more special. I love to think of my grandparents as young adults in the 1950s starting their life together.

That is when my love of photographs started. I am now a photographer, married with a family, and I understand even more the importance of photographs. Frequently they are one of the only ways we have to remember an important event or a special person in our lives.

More about me...

I live in Lancaster, PA with my husband, David, his daughter, Jane, and our dog, Happy! We spend most of our free time together either cooking/baking, playing games, or outside enjoying nature.

David and I got married in our friends’ kitchen. We signed our marriage certificate at the kitchen island and then ate Chinese take-out for dinner. We had our wedding photos taken earlier that day by our dear friend and wonderful photographer, Marisa Albrecht. Even though our wedding was a small affair, we still wanted beautiful pictures from this significant day in our lives. I am a firm believer that your wedding day should be everything you and your partner want, not what is normal or expected.

For me, cooking and baking are relaxing. In our house we strive to make all of our food from scratch. This means we spend a lot of time in the kitchen, but we love it! Sourdough bread, Indian food, and tacos are some of our household favorites. Along with David's water kefir and kombucha.
